Acoustiguide launches China Design Now
audio tour at the Victoria and
Albert Museum
(London) -
Acoustiguide
is delighted to be producing the audio guide to accompany the Victoria and
Albert Museum's major spring exhibition China Design Now. The exhibition is the
first in the UK to explore the recent explosion of new design in China and runs
from 15 March to 13 July 2008.
The
exhibition includes work by around 100 designers and the audio tour features
in-depth interviews and contributions from twelve of them including: Chen
Shaohua, Han Jiaying, Hu Yang, Jiang Qiong Er, Liu Zhi Zhi, Ma Ke, Ou Ning, PK,
Wang Yiyang, Yung Ho Chang, Zhang Da and Zhu Pei, few of whom have previously
been interviewed outside of China.
The
audioguide follows the exhibition which is
divided into three sections. Each is
linked to a city which provides a case study for the exploration of a different
design field: Frontier City, starting in Shenzhen, will show the development of
graphic design and visual culture; Shanghai’s Dream City will feature fashion
and lifestyle; Future City will explore architecture and the city
of
Beijing and beyond.
The audio
guide, available in English or Mandarin, is designed to allow visitors to tour
the exhibition in their own time and in any order. The audio tour is £3.95 for
adults or £3.50 for concessions and Friends of the V&A. It is also available as
an MP3 download from the Acoustiguide website, to load onto your iPod or
multimedia player through a secure online payment of £3.95. To download the
tour, please visit
