Guide-U is a breakthrough in group guiding equipment; no
other product looks like it, or performs like it. From its
sleek design to its high quality sound you will be amazed at
how this small and lightweight, yet extremely durable unit can
transform how you approach your group visitor experience.
Why use Guide-U?
Group visitors are a highly important element of any site's
attendance but they bring specific challenges to site
managers:
- How do you ensure that group visits do not
change the site's character or ambience?
- How can the group leader communicate with the
group without disturbing individual visitors?
- How do you ensure that everyone in the group can
hear the speaker - even if you are at the back of the group?
- How can you increase the size of your groups
without affecting the quality of the tour?
- How can you have multiple groups touring a site
simultaneously?
- How do you differentiate your group service from
other sites?
- How can you supplement the live guide with
pre-recorded or archive material that is available to
individual visitors?
- How can you provide group tours in multiple
languages even if your group leaders only speak one languages?
With 50 years expertise in the field, Espro Acoustiguide
Group has an unparalleled understanding of these issues and
has developed solutions to overcome these problems.
Guide-U enables:
- Clear communication for everyone, even in
noisy environments or outdoors
- Increased attentiveness, helping keep groups
together even in open areas
- Increased mobility by utilizing the latest
wireless technology
- The highest available sound quality
- Guiding large groups at one time
- Multiple tours to be given simultaneously
- Pre-recorded audio to be relayed to the group at
appropriate times, by linking the system with one of Espro
Acoustiguide's handheld audio players.
- User-friendly set-up and operation
The Guide-U system
The system comprises two main elements; the group leader
wears a transmitter which is connected to a tiny hands free
microphone and the group visitors wear a small neck-worn
receiver which is connected to either headphones or a single
earpiece.
Guide-U allows automatic setting of a single-frequency
to a specific group
The group leader enters the selected frequency on their
transmitter and by pressing one button, all required receivers
are locked to this frequency. As a result, once the tour has
started, the group visitors cannot change the frequency and be
disconnected from the group.

Group Visitor Receiver
Guide-U can be used in a number of ways
For Live Tours
Using Guide-U, the group leader switches on the microphone
and speaks at a normal level. Their voice is then transmitted
via radio frequency to visitors in the group. It is picked up
by the visitor's receiver and heard through the volume of the
audio to suite their own preferences and they can listen
clearly and without surrounding distractions. For hearing
impaired visitors, the neck strap of the receiver may also act
as an induction loop and transfer the audio directly to the
user's hearing aid through induction, without the use of the
headphones/earpiece.
Mixing Live and Pre-Recorded Commentaries
To combine a live tour and pre-recorded information or
multilingual content, the group leader combines the Guide-U
transmitter with any of Espro Acoustiguide's audio players.
The leader can access a pre-recorded commentary from the audio
player at any time and, just like the live commentary, the
pre-recorded message is relayed to each visitor in the group
via radio frequency.
Tours on the Road
Guide-U is also available for use on coaches and boats. On
board passengers are provided with receivers and
headphones/earpieces, through which they can listen to the
pre-recorded audio content relayed from a central control
unit, in multiple languages/frequencies. When leaving the
coach or boat to visit sites, the group leader can easily
synchronize all receivers to their own single frequency and
commence a live tour by using their microphone.
