Since its founding in 1901, the Toledo Museum of Art has earned a global reputation for the quality of its collections, innovative education programs, and architecturally significant campus. With a core mission of sharing the transformative power of art with the community, the museum proudly offers free admission to all visitors.

The Challenge

The museum sought ways to deepen visitor engagement and create memorable experiences for their temporary exhibitions. Audio storytelling was the answer that helped achieve these goals and reinforce their core belief that art transforms people’s lives and invites them to see differently.

The Age of Armor: Treasures from the Higgins Armory Collection

To appeal to a broad audience that included families and many first-time visitors, we took a cinematic approach with dramatic voices, sound effects, and action that delighted kids while still engaging adults with lots of information and an interesting story.

Matt Wedel: Phenomenal Debris

For the museum’s exhibition of Matt Wedel’s colorful and expressive ceramics, visitors hear directly from the artist about this unique and sometimes challenging work. We interviewed Matt and featured his commentary extensively throughout the tour so visitors could hear him describe his techniques, his inspiration, and his motivation to better understand the pieces on display.
